A change of heart begins in the recognition that we have been wanting in love toward God and toward our fellow travelers. Somewhere in Scripture there is this statement:
“If you wish to come back, Israel — it is Yahweh who speaks — it is to Me you must return.”
Think of your apologies as beginning in truth and ending in joy — not just a list of breaches of the law. Think of it essentially as an opening to a presence — a dialogue with God — then it is not a question simply of admitting one’s infidelities to Grace, it is a question of weaving them back into the fabric of His Fidelity.
