Keeping our long-range vision clear is never easy. Many things cloud it. we react to stress in our lives, to lack of sleep and proper nutrition, to people who cross our path when we least expect it.
The place to start is with a clear vision of God. When we forget the God who loves us, we find it difficult to see others clearly. With God’s help we can clear away the psychological debris that clouds our vision and clogs our heart —
–And the more we look at others with eyes clear of our own imperfections, the more compassion we will find to expend on our neighbor — a compassion that is the mark and gift of the Holy Spirit.
